2. C Jorge Alfaro

2021 Season Stats: .239 AVG, 1 HR, 5 RBI, .597 OPS

Alfaro just recently returned at the end of May from an injury where he went 3/11 at the plate in five games played. While his recent work has been good, Alfaro struggled before the injury batting .229 at the plate with a .507 OPS.

While the current season stats aren’t eye-popping, Alfaro hasn’t been terrible this season when he has played. However, those numbers will surely need to change going forward for the Marlins catcher. If Alfaro continues to struggle, could Miami potentially begin looking for a catcher at the Deadline?

1. 2B Isan Diaz

2021 Season Stats: .117 AVG, 2 HR, 8 RBI, .477 OPS

The player that undoubtedly must have a strong month of June is Diaz. It is no secret that Diaz has struggled at the plate so far this season sporting a .117 AVG, as well as having only collected 7 hits this season in 60 at-bats. Can Diaz turn things around?

The opportunity will sure be there for Diaz in the month of June with current injuries to the Marlins infield. However, Diaz will need to turn things around very quickly to begin the month, or it might be too late. If recent trends continue for Diaz, he might become a prime candidate to be traded in the coming weeks.

The next 1-2 months will be very important for these six Miami Marlins players. If they can improve their current production, it helps both themselves and the team. If not, the trade talks could begin at any moment.
