Miami Marlins Potential Trade Deadline Candidates: Pitchers

11. Yimi Garcia

There is no doubt that bullpen help is the #1 most needed position at each MLB Trade Deadline. If the Marlins do decide to sell, they will have one of the more coveted bullpen arms in baseball in Yimi Garcia.

Garcia has been outstanding so far since joining Miami in 2020 posting a 1.95 ERA during his time with the Fish. So far in the 2021 season, Garcia has posted a 3-4 record with a 2.86 ERA and 9 saves. A free agent at seasons end, Garcia is on a cheap $1.9 million deal, and should be one of the more sought after rental options for relief pitchers if Miami decides to sell.

Another Player to Watch: Anthony Bass

Signed as a free agent in the offseason by the Marlins, Anthony Bass has quietly been dominant since allowing six earned runs in his first three appearances of the season. The 33-year old reliever sports a 1-3 record with a 3.66 ERA, but has struggled in some areas, in particular allowing nine walks in 19.2 IP so far this season.

Bass is also under contract for 2022, with a team option for the 2023 season as well. If he keeps pitching at the same level as in recent weeks, he could become one of the more sought after relievers not among the biggest names.
