After a rough road-trip, the Miami Marlins return home to loanDepot Park for two series’ that are arguably a must-win.

Plain and simple, the Miami Marlins did not have a good road-trip. Dropping eight of nine games, the Fish now find themselves at 25-34, and 7.5 GB of first in the NL East. Next up for Miami is yet another struggling opponent, the Colorado Rockies.

The Rockies come to Miami having a rough 2021 season up to this point. Colorado has gone 5-5 in their last 10 games which includes sweeping the Rangers and dropping two of three to the Athletics. Like the Marlins, it also feels like the Rockies current play will define what they will do at the upcoming MLB Trade Deadline.

The first pitch times and probable pitching matchups for each game of the series can be found below (Games at loanDepot Park, Miami, FL):

Rockies Players to Watch

Key to Win Series: Take Advantage of Run-Scoring Opportunities

Aside from two games on the road-trip, Miami never scored more than three in a game. The Marlins have been hitting the ball well at times in recent games, but have to take advantage of run-scoring opportunities in this series to win.

Series Predictions

Offensive MVP: Starling Marte

Marte is the clear top hitter on this Miami team currently, and the Marlins need a big series offensively from their star player.

Pitching MVP: Pablo Lopez

Lopez was originally scheduled to start on Monday in Boston. Now pitching on an extra days’ rest, look for a big outing from Lopez.

It's Time to Call-Up Jesus Sanchez. dark. Next

Bold Prediction: Jose Devers 3+ Hits

Devers has recently spent some time in the leadoff spot. Are we in for another big series offensively from the young versatile infielder?
