Despite the Miami Marlins not receiving any starters for the 2021 MLB All-Star Game, that does not entirely mean they will not be represented in this years mid-summer classic.
In fact, when looking at many potential options to represent the Marlins in this years All-Star Game, there we a few potential players that you could legitimately make a case for.
While not all of these players will play in the 2021 MLB All-Star Game, Miami will be well represented by one player in particular that is a no-doubt selection to represent the Marlins in a little over a week in Colorado.
Miami Marlins pitcher Trevor Rogers selected to 2021 MLB All-Star Game.
As if it wasn’t already known, it is now official: Miami Marlins SP Trevor Rogers is a 2021 MLB All-Star as announced on Sunday night.
Rogers is in the midst of enjoying a phenomenal second season in the big leagues. After posting a 6.11 ERA across his first seven career starts a year ago, Rogers has been outstanding so far this season posting a 7-5 record with a 2.14 ERA and a 1.040 WHIP across 16 starts so far.
Across 92.1 innings pitched so far this season, Rogers has allowed 32 walks compared to 110 strikeouts. The 23-year old left-hander also currently ranks as the eighth best ERA in baseball, as well as T-19th in strikeouts.
The no-doubt current front-runner to win the 2021 NL Rookie of the Year, Rogers continues to impress each and every time he has taken the mound so far this season. Evident by a few notable numbers including a .197/.274/.295 slash line against, as well as a 10.7 K/9, it’s clear just how good Rogers has been throughout the 2021 campaign.
You can watch Rogers as he represents the Miami Marlins when taking the field for the 2021 MLB All-Star Game. The game will be played on Tuesday, July 13 at 7:30 pm ET at Coors Field in Colorado.
