Series Preview: Miami Marlins vs New York Mets
When: September 7 – September 9
Location: loanDepot Park, Miami, FL
We are officially in the home-stretch of the 2021 season for the Miami Marlins. After starting the month of September in an impressive fashion, the Marlins welcome yet another NL East division opponent to town.
Before receiving an off-day Monday, the Marlins had a successful weekend as they took two-of-three from the second-place Phillies in an impressive showing. After dominating the contest in game one, Miami used a late home run to take game two, but just fell short of a potential sweep as Philadelphia won game three in extra innings.
The Marlins enter this series with a 57-80 overall record, and in sole possession of fourth place in the NL East. Sporting a 6-4 record across their last 10 games, Miami could see success at home once again in this series as they hold a 36-33 overall record at loanDepot Park this season.
New York on the other hand enters this series with a 7-3 record across their last 10 games. After taking both games last week against Miami back at Citi Field, the Mets then won three out of five over the weekend against the Nationals.
The Mets enter play Tuesday with a 69-69 overall record, and four games behind first in the NL East. While New York struggled at times over the past month, the Mets are still squarely in postseason contention for both the NL East division and the NL Wild Card.

Prediction
Every game is considered a must-win for the Mets over the next two-to-three weeks, and this could be a prime opportunity to get those wins here against the Marlins.
However, Miami had success against New York a little over a month ago when they took three-of-four against the Mets at loanDepot Park – Can they do it again?
Series Prediction: Marlins 2-1
