Giancarlo Stanton had an interesting career with the Miami Marlins, though I doubt that it will lead to a Hall of Fame induction down the line. That said, he had one amazing run in the playoffs this season. It definitely makes you miss the time when he was a middle of the order bat for The Fish back in the day.

Former Miami Marlins slugger Giancarlo Stanton had an epic Postseason.

Giancarlo Stanton had a nice career for the Miami Marlins. From 2010 to 2017, he batted .268/.360/.554 for the team. The highlight was of course his National League MVP award winning 2017 season. That season, he batted .281/.376/.631, with 59 home runs and 132 RBI in 159 games and 597 AB.

Stanton wasn't nearly as good for the New York Yankees since his first season on the team in 2018. From 2018 to 2024, he batted .241/.323/.483, which is obviously pretty subpar. In fact, this season he batted .233/.298/.475 with 27 home runs and 72 RBI, in 114 games and 417 AB.

It's a whole separate topic of course, but the Giancarlo Stanton trade was of course a disaster for the Miami Marlins. There was no reason to sign him to a massive extension and trade him after. At that point he already had a no-trade clause, and the size of the contract made him much harder to trade. If he had to be traded, then it should've happened before the extension.

It's shocking to look at Stanton's Postseason numbers with the New York Yankees this season. He batted .273/.339/.709, with 7 home runs and 16 RBI in 14 games and 55 AB. That's literally insane! He had more RBI than games played! He had a home run in 50% of his games! That's elite production for sure.

In the World Series, Fiancarlo Stanton batted .238/.261/.571 with 2 home runs and 5 RBI, in 5 games and 21 AB. Here it was basically an RBI per game, with a home run in almost every game. His contract may be "under water", but his playoff production is truly historic.
