Miami Marlins fighting on but Marlin Maniac signing off

For now at least, this is it for Marlin Maniac.

Well Miami Marlins fans, it has been a pleasure.

For the last eleven years, I have had the privilege of regular chipping in my two cents here at Marlin Maniac. Many of you, I'm sure, have been coming to the site even longer than that. Based off of what I assure you was the most rigorous of internet research, the site has been actively breaking down all things Marlins baseball since 2009.

At this time, it would appear both of those chapters are coming to a close.

During my time here, I've had the opportunity to work with some great people. Really talented writers who went on to bigger and better things in the sports biz like Ehsan Kassim, who was my first editor and co-signed first taking a chance on me. Really passionate writers like Neil Raymond, who often made me look much more measured in comparison. Others too- Phil Kimmel, Michael Napoles, Riley Clingman, others too. As Tobias Funke once said, there have been dozens of us! Behind the scenes on the overall MLB side, I enjoyed plenty of support from extraordinarily dedicated administrators like Chris Headrick, David Hill, and especially Kyle Franzoni. Massive thanks to all you guys.

It's been an incredible experience...which has mostly made up for the emotional toll of Miami Marlins fandom during this stretch.

Mostly though, I want to thank anyone who ever read a word I wrote on this site. You're the best. As anyone who has ever created anything knows, it's just immensely flattering when anyone takes the time to appreciate your work. And for those of you who actually did said reading multiple times? Actually were anxious to get my Miami Marlins take, and made Marlin Maniac your first stop?

For you, I have no words. None other than "Thanks, Mom" anyway.

Kidding aside, it is an unfortunate truth that I'm probably not talking to a huge audience right now. While I would put my passion for the Miami Marlins up there with the best, I fully acknowledge I know less about Search Engine Optimization and boosting web traffic as many Marlins fans seem to think Clayton McCullough knows about managing a bullpen. Between a lack of internet savviness, probably focusing a bit too much on niche topics, and other factors behind the curtain, there's plenty of blame to fall on the shoulders of yours truly here for this being the end.

Then again, we could just blame Jeffrey Loria and Bruce Sherman? It's worked for everything else Miami Marlins related this century. No reason to stop now.

At any rate, truly, thanks again for reading. Go Marlins.
