The Miami Marlins might have rotation issues this upcoming season. With all of the options, it's great news if there's an internal solution that's being ignored. Who is the internal solution? Max Meyer is the internal option that might surprise us this upcoming season...

Max Meyer might be a good internal solution for the Miami Marlins this upcoming season.

The Fish need the rotation to be as productive as possible without Sandy Alcantara. The new ace for the time being is Jesus Luzardo, followed by Eury Perez (on an innings count). Braxton Garrett should be a mid-rotation arm and then there are the wild cards... Which version of Trevor Rogers will show up? The Cy Young caliber version from 2021? Or the struggling pitcher from the last few seasons?

Which version of Edward Cabrera will show up? The one from 2022 who seemed to be turning into an ace? Or the inconsistent version who has elite strikeouts but high walks? This means that the Miami Marlins will need depth. How about a hungry to deliver former top prospect coming back from Tommy John Surgery?

Max Meyer is planning a comeback this season and he might be ready to make an impact. This is what Meyer said about his return:

"I have all the confidence in the world right now in what I can do. … I'm just ready to get back. I'm fired up that people still remember me. I'm going to turn some heads when I get back.”

Max Meyer suffered a UCL tear in his right elbow on July 23, 2022 and then received Tommy John Surgery on August 9. He hasn't pitched to hitters since July 23. Meyer has been working hard for his return, throwing 4-5 times a week. He also started to develop a new pitch: a sinker with low velocity. He's adding this pitch to his repertoire, that already includes a four-seam fastball, a changeup and a slider.

Max says that he's feeling good and is working hard to get back to his prior form. If Max Meyer can return to the form that made him an elite prospect, he will be a great addition to the Miami Marlins rotation in 2024.
