Mothers day at loanDepot Park was celebrated not only by fans but the players as well got into the act. Several different players celebrated their moms and wives in addition to the great play which got the win for mom. The biggest celebration by both teams came in the form of the lumber they used, donning the pink bats for mom.

Bryan De La Cruz started the game in left field and showed his mom how good he can be going 3-for-4 with a run and RBI. De La Cruz also celebrated mom in a more real way with his sweet custom made pink cleats with a photo on the top. He was not the only MLB player who wore custom cleats for mothers day but one of a handful who did a specific recognition of the mom their life.

Catcher Nick Fortes celebrated his mom with pink gear, and the top of the chest protector had 'mom' on it. Sadly Fortes could not perform for mom as he went 0-for-4. Many different Miami Marlins players recorded a short tribute of thank you to their moms and wives, put together by the Miami Marlins media team.

In the biggest celebration of mom of the day, Jorge Soler and Yuli Gurriel's mothers threw out a pitch on the field to their sons, who presented them with a bouquet of roses after the fact. Momma Gurriel is especially celebratory of her MLB motherhood, having two sons in the major leagues in Yuli who plays for the Marlins and Lourdes who plays for Arizona. Ironically, Gurriel did not play on Sunday despite his mom being at the game.

The Miami Marlins won the final game of the series 3-1 on a stellar performance by Braxton Garrett who's 5 inning, 1 run, and 8 strikeout outing led the way to victory. Garrett Cooper in his return to the lineup went 2-for-4 with a run and a RBI, and Segura drove in the 3rd run for the day.
