It's an interleague battle of lefties tonight when Jesus Luzardo and the Miami Marlins hit the road to take on Jordan Montgomery and the Texas Rangers in an interleague battle.

So, who should we back in tonight's series opener? Well, the Marlins, of course!

Let's take a look at the odds for the game and then I'll break down why I like the Marlins as underdogs.

Marlins vs. Rangers odds, run line, and total

Marlins vs. Rangers prediction and pick

In a battle of lefties, it's important to first and foremost take a look at how each offense has handled left-handed pitching over the past month. When you do, you realize the Marlins should have a significant offensive advantage tonight.

Over the past 30 days, the Marlins are batting an eye-popping .340 against left-handed pitchers. Meanwhile, the Rangers are batting just .238 against them. So, Miami is astronomically better against lefties, which that alone makes them an enticing option as underdogs.

Jordan Montgomery will make his debut with the Rangers tonight, and it'll be his second start against the Marlins this month. He only allowed one earned run against them on July 18th, but he also allowed six hits and two walks in that start. If Miami can bat that well against him again tonight, I'm certain they'll bring home more than a single runner.

Outside of his latest start, Jesus Luzardo has been largely dominant lately. Dating back to June 23rd, Luzardo has an ERA of 1.96.

With Luzardo on the mound and the Marlins' offensive prowess against lefties, I love them as underdogs tonight.
