The Miami Marlins have struggled lately, going just 3-7 in their last 10 games, including four straight. As a result, they're 0.5 games outside of a wild card spot in the National League.

The Cincinnati Reds are in the exact same situation. They've gone 3-7 in their last 10 games including losing six straight and are now on the outside of the playoffs looking in.

That makes this week's series between the two teams one of the most pivotal series of the MLB season.

Let's dive into the odds for Monday night's series opener.

Marlins vs. Reds odds, run line, and total

Marlins vs. Reds prediction and pick

The Marlins will be rolling with their 20-year old stud prospect, Eury Perez, who is returning to Miami's rotation. He was fantastic in his 11 starts for the Marlins, rocking a 2.36 ERA and a 1.088 WHIP.

One of those starts came against this Reds team on May 12. He gave up just two earned runs while striking out seven batters in the process.

One of the biggest factors in this game is that the Reds are rolling with Brandon Williamson in this game. It's not his 4.85 ERA that makes me want to bet the Marlins, it's the fact he's a lefty. The Marlins have been one of the best teams in the Majors against left-handed pitchers this season.

In fact, over the last 30 days they've been batting .306 with a .792 OPS against lefties. That should put them in a great spot against Williamson on Monday night. I won't hesitate to back them as favorites.
