C Kyle Teel, UVA
The Miami Marlins are looking for a catcher at the trade deadline this season, which means they could very well look at drafting a franchise catcher in the first round and Teel is currently ranked 10th on the draft prospect list. Teel can be watched this weekend in the College World Series, and he played Friday night and went 0-for-3 against Florida.
Teel could provide some much needed offense to the catcher position for the Marlins as he hit 13 home runs and drove in 69 while slashing .413/.481/.665 this season. Teel had over 100 hits this season and continues to be a leader on his team who is in the College World Series. He has hit for power each year at UVA with 28 home runs, 48 doubles, and a .550 slugging percentage for his career. I would love to see him behind the dish in Miami, as we could use his offensive production today and he would be much quicker to be big league ready than a younger high school prospect.
