The Miami Marlins will be coming off a playoff run into a new season for the first time in a while and fans should be excited. The Marlins will hopefully have a handful of exciting news from this offseason and a bunch of new names to the roster. First things first however, the Marlins have to get to Spring Training in 2024 and find out what prospects will make the team.

The Marlins have a handful of prospects who should be competing for a roster spot and I think at least one will make the opening day roster. There could be two or three names that could make the roster but time will tell. Now to the dates you need to know.

February 24th - Spring Training Games Start

The Marlins start the Spring Training season on February 24th against the St. Louis Cardinals. The Marlins will have several players to watch once the season starts, and time will tell how many will make the major league roster or be promoted after the fact and since that game will be a split squad game.

February 16?

Around February 16th should be the reporting time that pitchers and catchers report. We will update you when they declare the official start date. In 2023 they reported on the 16th and the position players reported on February 21st. Not much should change for 2024, maybe one day different since it’s a leap year.

March 28th - Marlins Opening day

The most important date for fans will be the first game and first home game of the season which is scheduled for March 28th. The Marlins will face off against the Pittsburg Pirates to open the 2024 season and they will start their first road trip a week later on April 4th.

Hopefully the roster is not finished at this point and the Marlins will make several moves between now and March to fill out the team. Either way Marlins fans should be excited about the start of the 2024 season. What will the Fish do to follow up on their playoff run in 2023?
