Did you see our three surprising predictions for the season? How about the list of five prospects that you should keep an eye on? Unfortunately MLB.com has a list of their own. That list is basically of the 10 best rotations this season. The list is shockingly bad and overlooks the Miami Marlins. Th team with the reigning NL Cy Young award winner. How is it possible to overlook that?! Let's see how bad this list really is using Fangraphs projections...

The Miami Marlins have one of the 10 best rotations in MLB.

Here's how the Miami Marlins starting five did in 2022:

Sandy Alcantara: 2.28 ERA in 228.2 innings.

Jesus Luzardo: 3.32 ERA in 100.1 innings.

Edward Cabrera: 3.01 ERA in 71.2 innings.

Johnny Cueto: 3.35 ERA in 158.1 innings (for CWS).

Trevor Rogers: 5.47 ERA in 107.0 innings.

The MLB list has the New York Mets as #1 despite Kodai Senga being completely unproven in the Majors; Carlos Carrasco being projected for a 4.06 ERA; Jose Quintana projected for a 4.37 ERA and currently injured. It seems that the writer was only aware of Justin Verlander and Max Scherzer. The funny thing was him stating that because they're "motivated", they will be "good". Scherzer just pitched huis lowest inning total in a full season since 2008 and his fastball velocity has been in decline since 2019.

The Philadelphia Phillies at #5 are a little silly too. Aaron Nola and Zack Wheeler are not the entire rotation. They're followed by Taijuan Walker (4.47 ERA), Ranger Suarez (4.12 ERA) and Bailey Falter (4.31 ERA). That's a top 5 rotation?! Putting the San Diego Padres there is laughable too: Yu Darvish (3.88 ERA), Joe Musgrove (3.84 ERA), Blake Snell (3.52 ERA), Michael Wacha (4.21 ERA) and Nick Martinez (4.11 ERA). The hype is empty.

The Los Angeles Angels at #10 is simply ridiculous. Shohei Ohtani is an ace but he's followed by Patrick Sandoval (3.92 ERA), Tyler Anderson (4.11 ERA), Reid Detmers (4.23 ERA) and Jose Suarez (4.30 ERA). The Miami Marlins should've been on the list.
