The Miami Marlins showed us something yesterday...
The Miami Marlins pulled off a massive 5-4 road comeback win over the Atlanta Braves yesterday. The Fish were headed for a 4-0 loss entering the ninth inning, but then scored 5 runs in just that one inning to win the game! It was an amazing performance that really cheers you up as a Miami Marlins fan. In other Miami Marlins news, recently designated for assignment relief pitcher Sean Nolin has been demoted back down to the Minor Leagues.
The Miami Marlins beat the Atlanta Braves in a memorable comeback win.
The Miami Marlins had a forgettable series against the Atlanta Braves until yesterday... Atlanta won game one on Monday with a stunning 11-0 score. It was a pretty embarrassing performance for The Fish. On Tuesday, Atlanta won again. This time with the score of 7-4. The Fish almost came back from behind this time, but just couldn't score enough runs to do so. CF Jazz Chisholm Jr. went 2-5 with a home run in this one.
Game three would decide if the Miami Marlins could avoid losing the series at all. The Fish jumped to a 4-0 lead, but then allowed Atlanta to score 6 to win the game. This was a very disappointing loss, as the series went from a potential tie to being an Atlanta win. It also created a possibility for Atlanta to even get a sweep. There was considerable concern going into the final game of the series.
The final game was of course very memorable... As I said earlier, The Fish were down 4-0 going into the ninth inning. It looked like a sweep was inevitable, but the Miami Marlins made a comeback and scored an amazing five runs in one inning!
Who were the stars of the game for the Miami Marlins? CF Jazz Chisholm Jr. went 1-4 with an RBI. 1B Garrett Cooper (starting at DH) went 1-5 with 2 RBI. 2B Luis Arraez was great again going 2-4 as he keeps making a case for an extension. Closer A.J. Puk pitched a scoreless inning to earn a win and showcase his shutdown ability.
