The next season of Miami Marlins baseball is right around the corner.

As for what Marlins fans can expect from their team in 2026? That's anyone's guess. Last year's club was in the playoff race until the final weekend of the season...but that team very likely overachieved. The young talent responsible for so much of that success could take another leap forward...but they could also fall prey to the dreaded sophomore slump and regress. Marlins ownership will be quick to tell you they spent $20 million on free agents this winter...but only one of those four free agents (Pete Fairbanks) would have the same job they currently possess on most other MLB teams.

As is the case with any question, the answer will probably lie somewhere in the middle when it comes to the final win-loss line of the 2026 Miami Marlins. Although I will say this- for once, they might not have trouble claiming the spotlight. With the Florida Panthers looking likely to miss the playoffs, the Miami Heat facing down another play-in tournament, and the Miami Dolphins smashing down hard on the reset button...it wouldn't take much for the Marlins to be the most compelling South Florida sports story of 2026. There will be regression mixed in with the breakouts to be sure but if Miami could only get lucky for once on the health front, they should remain a tough out in the National League's toughest division.

Of course, you knew all that ready. What isn't known is the shape of that production for Marlins fans. Who will carry the team to new heights? Who will drag them down, at least until they are replaced by the next up and comer?

Which brings us slowly but surely to some 2026 Miami Marlins predictions. Bold ones, in fact! Three best case scenarios that if not enough to carry Miami back to a .500 plus record and the postseason, will at least be tons of fun to watch this year.
