MLB Rumors: Prince Fielder, Yoennis Cespedes, Roy Oswalt on Miami Marlins Radar?

AUTHOR: | IN: Free Agency 2011, Marlins, Media, News | COMMENTS: None Yet

The Miami Marlins started the 2011 off season with a loud bang. The Marlins went on a spending spree, spending $191 million dollars on three of the top free agents. The Marlins signed Heath Bell, Jose Reyes, and Mark Buehrle right before and during the winter meetings. During the Winter Meetings, the Marlins also made strong runs at Albert Pujols and C.J. Wilson, before they signed with the Los Angeles Angels. Since the winter meetings, the Marlins have gone into hibernation mode. Currently, I do not view the Marlins as good enough to be competing with the Philadelphia Phillies. The Washington Nationals would surpass the Marlins if they [...]

AUTHOR: | IN: Marlins | COMMENTS: None Yet

I hope everyone had a very merry Christmas, I know I did.  I got a sweet windbreaker pullover jacket with a new Marlins logo on the chest.  I also got a new Miami Marlins logo ornament and felt pennant.  I had a very Marlins Christmas.  Anyway, I hope you all enjoyed my previous post.  Today I will continue with my second encounter with an extended member of the Marlin family.

Marlins Way: A Look Around the League

AUTHOR: | IN: Marlins, Media, News, Popular | COMMENTS: None Yet

We have been doing Marlins Way for a while now, just looking at Miami Marlins links. Today we will take a look around the league and see what is going on. Let us get started: Wonder why the Marlins are having a tough time adding starting pitching through trades this off-season? Take a look at what the San Diego Padres got for Matt Latos and the Oakland Athletics for Gio Gonzalez. The Marlins simply do not have the prospects to match up with other teams. Just three days ago, the Texas Rangers received a very expensive Christmas present in Yu Darvish. They now [...]

We have not had a segment of “Marlins Way” for three weeks now. Today we will be jumping back into our weekly Friday segments of Marlins Way. Let us take a look today what is happening around the Miami Marlins world around the web today. At Fishstripes, our friend Michael Jong has added more personal to his arsenal. Check out the new writers on Fishstripes today. One of Fishstripes new writers, etothesecondpower, examines whether Heath Bell’s 2011 season is cause for concern for the Miami Marlins moving forward. It seems Marlins fans do have something to look forward to with Bell. [...]

It’s a Small World Part 1

AUTHOR: | IN: Marlins, Media, Popular | COMMENTS: None Yet

I grew up and still reside in the Atlanta suburbs, as a lot of you may already be aware, so I do not get many opportunities to have chance meetings with Marlins personnel. At least not on a regular basis as someone who lives in Miami might bump into John Buck at the grocery store or Gaby Sanchez at the mall.  The closest I ever got to actually being able to interact with Marlins players was during all those spring training games I went to during the 1990s. What I have had the opportunity do do is meet some great [...]
