The Arizona Diamondbacks applied a major drubbing on the Miami Marlins Friday night. The D-Backs were able to jump on Kevin Slowey in the first inning with back-to-back home runs to give them a 3-0 lead. They never looked back. Slowey lasted just three innings and surrendered six earned runs.

The Marlins are hoping for better results today as Tom Koehler takes the mound against Brandon McCarthy. To find more information on both pitchers, check out the scouting report on our series preview.

Jon Rauch was designated for assignment after last night’s game and Duane Below was called up to take his spot. The Marlins will use Below in the long relief role with Wade LeBlanc needing rest after pitching four long innings yesterday.

Martin Prado is the only Diamondback hitter with any at bats against Koehler. Prado is 1-for-2 off of Koehler, with both those at bats coming as an Atlanta Brave.

Bold Prediction: This will be the game the Marlins find a way to steal. Koehler pitched six two-run innings for the Marlins and Marcell Ozuna muscles his second home run of the season in a Marlins victory. Marlins win 4-2.
