Welcome back to the Greatest Moments in Marlins History. There is no secret that myself and some Marlins fans were a little upset about the snub Jose Fernandez received from the announcers at the 2013 All-Star Game (you can read about it here). So we are giving moment 50 to Jose Fernandez’s one inning of pitching in the 2013 All-Star game.

The National League was down 2-0 entering the 6th inning when Bruce Bochy called upon Jose. Jose’s first batter was former Rookie of the Year and 2008 MVP Dustin Pedoria. Jose set up first pitch, ball. He followed that ball with a strike looking. 3rd pitch came up and it was called a ball. For his next pitch Dustin takes a mighty swing and misses. The count was 2-2 when Jose let one rip for a strike out looking. Next up for Jose was former Marlins and Mr. Triple Crown Miguel Cabrera. The first 2 pitch are the same, foul balls. The third and finally pitch was a foul out to the first baseman. Next up was Chris Davis. Chris wanted to send that ball soaring out of the park with the first pitch, but he swung and missed. The next pitch was a ball, but Jose followed it up with another swinging strike. Jose was feeling it. Next pitch couldn’t fool Chris as it was a ball. 2-2 count and Jose threw that ball with all his force, strike 3 swinging! 2 Ks and a pop out in one inning of work!

Wow, moments 50-150 are done. I hope you guys have enjoyed this list as much as I have. Has your favorite moment come up yet? No? Then continue to check back with us as we take 49-1 all the way up to Opening Day!
