New York Mets Players to Watch

1B Pete Alonso

Alonso leads the Mets in almost every major offensive statistical category, as well having hit a by-far team-leading 35 home runs on the season. Alonso went 1-for-9 in New York’s weekend series in Milwaukee, and has posted a .923 OPS so far this month with six home runs and 13 RBI’s.

CF Brandon Nimmo

Nimmo collected four hits in the Mets three-game series in Milwaukee, and has slashed .294/.333/.529 since returning to the New York lineup back on September 17. Nimmo has posted an .839 OPS for the season with six home runs, 24 RBI’s, and five stolen bases.

SS Francisco Lindor

Despite a down-year for the four-time All-Star, Lindor has posted a strong month of September slashing .256/.350/.547 with seven home runs and 18 RBI’s. Lindor went 1-for-12 with a solo home run during New York’s weekend series in Milwaukee.

RP Aaron Loup

Loup has been one of the most-consistent relievers in baseball this season posting a 0.97 ERA out of the bullpen this season. The left-hander has not allowed a run across 10.2 innings pitched so far this month.

3B Jonathan Villar

Villar has enjoyed a strong season where he has posted a .743 OPS with 18 home runs, 40 RBI’s, and 13 stolen bases. Villar has struggled recently having collected only two hits across his last eight games.
