4. OF Kyle Schwarber

Coming off a phenomenal 2021 season which included his first career All-Star selection, Schwarber appeared in a total of 113 games with the Nationals and Red Sox in which the 28-year-old slashed a combined .266/.374/.554 with 32 home runs and 71 RBI’s. Seeing time primarily in left field with both teams, Schwarber also served as Boston’s DH at times as well, and would likely fill a similar role potentially with the Marlins.

Schwarber currently holds a mutual option for the 2022 season, and could potentially reach free agency depending on what happens with that. If Schwarber reaches free agency as well, there is no-denying that the 28-year-old outfielder would be a perfect fit as a potential power-hitting impact bat in the middle of Miami’s everyday lineup.

3. CF Starling Marte

The Marlins and Marte reportedly had negotiations on a contract extension earlier this season, but were reportedly unable to reach an agreement. As you likely know by now as well, Miami would trade the star outfielder to Oakland at the 2021 MLB Trade Deadline, as Marte was scheduled to hit free agency at the end of the 2021 season.

Slashing a combined .308/.381/.456 with 12 home runs, 55 RBI’s, and 47 stolen bases during the 2021 campaign, Marlins’ fans already know what Marte is capable of both offensively and defensively, and would return a player who excelled the last two seasons in Miami. Yes, Marte was traded by the Marlins at the 2021 MLB Trade Deadline, but is it possible that the 33-year-old outfielder could potentially return to Miami in 2022 as a free agent?
