Spring Training is opening eyes on some players, but the season is just not looking very optimistic at this point. Could anything change? Could the Miami Marlins actually surprise? Who is likely to win the World Series? Which teams will win their divisions and which teams will make the playoffs in general? Not to toot my own horn, but I tend to have pretty accurate predictions. Let's see if I get this upcoming season right. I will look at each division and rate the teams in order of how I expect them to finish.

How will this season go for the Miami Marlins and other teams?

AL EAST

1. NEW YORK YANKEES

A lot has been made about the Bronx Bombers losing Juan Soto, but the lineup actually didn't take as much of a hit. CF Cody Bellinger and 1B Paul Goldschmidt will help the team immensely as both are still good and motivated, while being helped by Yankee Stadium. A full season of 2B Jazz Chisholm Jr. will do wonders as well. The bullpen is better and Gerrit Cole missed most of last season, but Max Fried can technically replace him. Overall, this is still a team that's good enough to win the division.

2. BOSTON RED SOX

The Bronx Bombers' rivals really tried to improve this off-season, however the entire pitching staff is one giant question mark, filled with players with injury questions. Ace Garrett Crochet has only been a starting pitcher in the Majors for one season, and there's no closer. The lineup is solid, but relies on some players taking steps forward and others like LF Jarren Duran keeping the momentum of 2024 going. There's a lot of ways that this team can go

3. BALTIMORE ORIOLES

Baltimore basically has a rotation full of mid and back of the rotation arms. The bullpen looks better than Boston's, but worse than New York's. The lineup is solid, but honestly overrated. It's going to be between Boston and Baltimore for the second place in the division, but Boston looks a bit better to me.

4. TORONTO BLUE JAYS

The rotation heavily depends on the likes of Kevin Gausman bouncing back. The lineup is very top heavy and bounceback dependent and the bullpen is just average. They don't really look like a playoff team to me, though they should be in the Wild Card mix and with the right breaks, are similar to both Boston and Baltimore. They're basically a worse version of both teams in an odd way.

5. TAMPA BAY RAYS

Based on team history, it's fair to believe that they will be better than they look. That said, they look easily as the worst team in the division, that will need a lot of players to step up and for a lot of things to go right for them to make the playoffs.
