Last season saw a controversial trade, as the Miami Marlins traded then CF Jazz Chisholm Jr. to the New York Yankees. It doesn't look as bad in hindsight, as Jazz never truly lived up to his potential with The Fish. He was good, but could never stay healthy or put up the numbers that he was expected to put up. It now looks like he just can't stay away from going to Miami.

Former Miami Marlins favorite Jazz Chisholm Jr. is back!

Jazz Chisholm Jr. has been fun to have on the Miami Marlins, though at the end of the day the hype and potential were more than the results. After a "cup of coffee" in 2020, Jazz had his serious debut in the 2021 season. That season, he batted .248/.303/.425, with 18 home runs and 53 RBI in 124 games and 464 AB. He also had 23 stolen bases. He was worth 2.5 WAR.

In 2022, Jazz batted .254/.325/.535, with 14 home runs and 45 RBI in 60 games and 213 AB. He added 12 stolen bases to the line and was worth 2.4 WAR. Once again the promise was there, but he couldn't stay healthy enough to produce for the entire season. In 2023, he batted .250/.304/.457, with 19 home runs and 51 RBI in 97 games and 352 AB. He added 22 stolen bases and was worth 1.2 WAR. Splitting 2024 between The Fish and the New York Yankees, he batted .256/.324/.436, with 24 home runs and 73 RBI in 147 games and 562 AB. He added an impressive 40 stolen bases and was worth 2.7 WAR.

In his time with the Miami Marlins, Jazz Chisholm Jr. never topped 2.5 WAR, never topped 19 home runs or 53 RBI. After the World Series came to an end, he came back to Miami. He specifically went to Miami Beach and stayed at a luxury resort to party and relax after the season. It's nice to know that he still ultimately wants to be back in town and I'm sure that he definitely enjoyed playing here. Hopefully he can stay healthy next season, even though he'll be on a different team.
