The Miami Marlins have been busy making some minor trades this off-season. Trades that might not matter now, but that could very well become notable in the future. Not all of these trades are that likes however. We're also entering Hall of Fame season, with a former Miami Marlins player potentially looking to be enshrined in the prestigious place. I'm talking about Ichiro Suzuki.

Former Miami Marlins OF Ichiro Suzuki is a lock for the MLB Hall of Fame.

The MLB Hall of Fame is likely to receive another entrant by the name of Ichiro Suzuki. Ichiro didn't play for The Fish for a long time, but he was still a legend throughout his career. Most of Ichiro's career of course came with the Seattle Mariners. He won the AL Rookie of the Year award for his phenomenal 2001 season. That season, he batted .350/.381/.457, with 8 home runs and 69 RBI in 157 games and 692 AB. He was worth an astounding 7.7 WAR.

From 2001 to 2011 with Seattle, he batted .326/.370/.421. He was worth 55.5 WAR for that run. It's clear that he was one of the best right fielders in the Major Leagues. A very good defender, he was an elite contact hitter and the best lead-off hitter in the game. He split the 2012 season between both the Seattle Mariners and the New York Yankees.

Ichiro Suzuki's time with the Miami Marlins came between the 2015 and 2017 seasons. He batted .229/.282/.279, with a home run and 21 RBI in 153 games and 398 AB. He was sadly worth just -1.1 WAR. In the 2016 season, Ichiro batted .291/.354/.376, with a home run and 22 RBI, in 143 games and 327 AB. He was worth a much better 1.6 WAR as a bench player.

Ichiro's final season with the Miami Marlins came in 2017, when he batted .255/.318/.332, with 3 home runs and 20 RBI in 136 games and 196 AB. He was worth -0.2 WAR. He finished his career right back where he started, with Seattle in 2018 and 2019. He was worth 60.0 WAR for his career.

Ichiro Suzuki will make the Hall of Fame with the Seattle Mariners.
