It's great to see the Miami Marlins playing competitively this season, and the defense is very impressive. It may be time for Peter Bendix to look ahead as his defense first plan has so far been working out. This latest move by the team involved the bullpen. Going out is righty relief pitcher Xzavion Curry and....you know what let's just get to all that as a lot f moves have taken place!

The Miami Marlins shake up the bullpen on Friday afternoon.

Righty relief pitcher Xzavion Curry has been designated for assignment. Curry pitched to a 6.00 ERA/5.31 FIP, with 3.0 K/9 and 9.0 BB/9 in 3 games and 3.0 innings pitched. He's been worth a dreadful -0.3 WAR for that production. He will either end up going to the Minor Leagues or picked up by another team.

Replacing Curry on the main roster, is returning starting pitcher Edward Cabrera. Cabrera hasn't yet pitched this season, and this is his chance to finally live up to his old top prospect hype. Can he finally become a useful starting pitcher, if not the ace that he was once projected to become one day? Hopefully we'll find out once he pitches after he returns.

Catcher Nick Fortes has been placed on the 10-day IL with a left oblique strain. He's batting a pretty good .300/.333/.500, with 0 home runs and 3 RBI in 7 games and 20 AB. He was worth 0.3 WAR. Replacing him on the Major League roster is C Rob Brantly. Brantly batted .111/.111/.111, with no home runs and no RBI, in 3 games and 9 AB. He was worth 0.0 WAR. He's basically just a depth option, while Fortes is out. I'm hoping that Fortes will be back right after the 10 days.

I'm excited to see Edward Cabrera back on the Miami Marlins. I'm also hopeful that Nick Fortes recovers as soon as possible. It will be interesting to see what happens with Xzavion Curry and whether Rob Brantly does something useful on the roster. It's going to be interesting to see how this situation develops.
