The Miami Marlins agreed to deals with all arb-eligible players on the team. This hasn't been a great day for the team and that's something that we sadly have to deal with. Catcher Nick Fortes, starting pitcher Braxton Garrett, relief pitcher Anthony Bender, RF Jesus Sanchez and starting pitcher Edward Cabrera have all been up for arbitration. They all agreed to deals with The Fish.

Five Miami Marlins players agreed to deals in arbitration.

Who says that the Miami Marlins don't spend any money?! Well, it's not free agency ugh, but at least this was settled quickly enough. Let's start with Braxton Garrett. He is already out for the 2025 season. He pitched to a 5.35 ERA/3.81 FIP, with 8.3 K/9 and 1.0 BB/9 in 7 games and 37.0 innings pitched. He spent most of the 2024 season as well. He is under control through the 2028 season. He was worth 0.3 WAR. He agreed to $1.53 million.

Anthony Bender pitched to a 4.08 ERA/2.92 FIP, with 10.0 K/9 and 3.1 BB/9 in 59 games and 53.0 innings pitched. He is a very good relief pitcher, so it's fun to have him back for the 2025 season. He's someone who can even take his old closer's gig back at some point. He certainly has the ability, and is under control through the 2027 season. He was worth 0.9 WAR. He agreed to $1.42 million.

Nick Fortes batted .227/.259/.318, with 4 home runs and 29 RBI in 110 games and 308 AB in 2024. The Miami native is under control through the 2028 season and hopefully will finally have a big 2025 season. Hey, I can at least hope right? He was worth 0.0 WAR. He agreed to $1.86 million.

Jesus Sanchez batted .252/.313/.417 with 18 home runs and 64 RBI, in 149 games and 489 AB in 2024. He was worth 0.7 WAR. He agreed to $4.5 million. Let's hope he finally breaks out in 2025. Starting pitcher Edward Cabrera was worth 0.7 WAR in 2024. He pitched to a 4.95 ERA/4.68 FIP, with 10.0 K/9 and 4.7 BB/9 in 20 games and 96.1 innings pitched. We'll see if he finally puts it all together for the Miami Marlins in 2025. He agreed to $1.95 million.
