Do you remember this trade between the Miami Marlins and the Philadelphia Phillies? It landed The Fish an interesting prospect and now it's reflected on the MLB top 100 prospects list. The Fish actually have a total of three prospects on the list, which is certainly a lot better than we all thought before the list was actually announced.
The Miami Marlins are well represented on the MLB top 100 prospects list.
There are three Miami Marlins prospects on the MLB top 100 prospects list. The highest prospect on the list is LHP Thomas White at number 41. White has frontline ace potential according to MLB.com. He has a great fast ball that tops out at 94-97 mph on the radar gun; a curveball at 78-82 mph and a changeup in the mid-80's. He should make his debut during the 2026 season.
I'm very excited to see Thomas White eventually pitch in the Majors and hope that it indeed happens next season. White has star potential written all over him and would be another in a long line of talented Marlins starting pitchers to crack the team's rotation.
At number 81 is the aforementioned SS Starlyn Caba. Caba may be the best defender in the Minor Leagues according to MLB.com. He's also a speedster, who understands that his role is to get on base and steal bases. The 19 year old is not expected to debut until the 2027 season. I hope that he makes an impact when he does.
At number 85 is RHP Noble Meyer, who is expected to debut in the 2026 season. He also has front of the rotation potential like White, though he's obviously not as highly regarded as White. I hope that he will live up to the hype, though to be fair pitching prospects are more volatile than hitting ones.
The Miami Marlins farm system is on the rise and I'm hoping that this continues. The 2025 season doesn't look too promising sadly, but at least we have the future to look forward to right? Peter Bendix has a vision and I hope that he lives up to it.
