Trade rumors keep swirling around the Miami Marlins. We can only hope that any trade that The Fish do won't end up bad. There's been a lot of turnover this weekend, and sadly also injuries. It's been a busy weekend and sadly not filled with the wins that we were hoping for. Hopefully next week goes better for the team.

Miami Marlins weekend notes are pretty interesting.

It's unfortunate to report that LF Griffin Conine is now injured, suffering a left dislocated shoulder. This is an alarming injury, as injuries of this type need months and not weeks of recovery time. We nay not see Conine back until mid-season or even later. This is devastating news, considering he could've been headed for a breakout season. He was batting .281/.352/.438, with a home run and 7 RBI in 20 games and 64 AB. I'm hoping that he gets healthy as soon as possible and continue what helping the team.

With Conine on the 6-day IL, two players have been called up to replace him and DFA'd lefty reliever Patrick Monteverde. Monteverde pitched to a disaster of a 9.82 ERA, with a promising 1.66 FIP. He also had 9.8 K/9 and 2.5 BB/9 in a game and 3.2 innings pitched. He might be back late ron this season.

So who was brought up? Middle infielder Ronny Simon making his Major League debut. Simon batted .354/.441/.521 in AAA this season. I'm curious to see what he'll do in his call-up. The other player called up is lefty pitcher Cade Gibson. Gibson is a 27 year old who doesn't actually have an impressive track record in the Minors. I'm actually not sure why he was called up. I'm guessing it's more for depth, as I would've liked Monteverde to remain in the Majors instead.

These are interesting moves for the Miami Marlins. I want to see how Gibson and Simon will do, and how these moves will affect The Fish going forward. I also want to see Griffin Conine back as soon as possible and wish him the best.
