We're still getting over Jazz Chisholm Jr. no longer being a member of the Miami Marlins. It was a difficult trade to process, and I thought of 3 different reasons why that trade made sense for Peter Bendix to make. We graded the trade as well. At the end of the day though, he's now playing third base for the New York Yankees. Jazz's season might again be over.

Former Miami Marlins superstar Jazz Chisholm Jr. is injured.

Jazz Chisholm Jr. is definitely missed by us Miami Marlins fans. I wish that he stayed and it's still hard for me to get used to the idea that he's gone. Jazz batted .249/.323/.407, with 13 home runs and 50 RBI, in 101 games and 386 AB for The Fish prior to the trade. A solid if not spectacular performance by the slugger.

Since being traded to the New York Yankees, Jazz has batted an unbelievable .316/.361/.702 with 7 home runs and 11 RBI, in 14 games and 57 AB. He' s been a bona fide superstar with the Bronx Bombers. That's why it's so sad to hear that he now has a UCL injury. The injury is to his non-throwing elbow, however UCL injuries are very serious and very scary. He could very well need surgery.

Jazz Chisholm Jr. has never played a full healthy season in the Major Leagues due to numerous injuries. This is why it's especially sad that just when he was finally having a healthy season, this has to happen.

New York Yankees manager Aaron Boone had this to say:

“Obviously, he’s been really impactful for us. Hopefully this is something that’s a shorter period and we’ll get him back and rolling. It’s certainly tough to not have him in there, with what he’s meant to this team already. We’ll just do our best to support him and get him right.”

It will be very disappointing if Jazz Chisholm Jr. requires surgery. He will once again miss his chance at playing a full season and the "injury-prone" label will unfortunately be confirmed for him. Did Peter Bendix expect an injury to happen again? Is that why he sold high on the then Miami Marlins star?

A surprising reason.... dark. Next. A surprising reason...
