The Miami Marlins are not going to sign the top international free agent Roki Sasaki and definitely need to sign some starting pitchers. At least one for sure. The Fish however are also in a good position to sign whoever is wanted otherwise. Let's take a look at the situation a little bit deeper now. How does it all look like?

This could be a big day for the Miami Marlins.

It should be a big day for the Miami Marlins. The Fish started the day with $7,555,500 in international bonus pool money. That put the team in first place for most money available to spend. The only other teams in that bracket are the Athletics, Cincinnati Reds, Detroit Tigers, Milwaukee Brewers, Tampa Bay Rays, Minnesota Twins and the Seattle Mariners.

The second tier is at $6,908,600 and includes the Arizona Diamondbacks, Baltimore Orioles, Cleveland Guardians, Kansas City Royals, Pittsburgh Pirates and the Colorado Rockies. The tier after that is at $6,261,600 and includes the New York Yankees, Philadelphia Phillies, Boston Red Sox, Atlanta Braves, Washington Nationals, San Diego Padres, Texas Rangers, Chicago Cubs, Chicago White Sox, Toronto Blue Jays, Los Angeles Angels and the New York Mets.

The tier after that is at $5,646,200 that includes just two teams. Those teams are the Houston Astros and the St. Louis Cardinals. The lowest tier is at $5,146,200 and that includes the Los Angeles Dodgers and the San Francisco Giants.

The Miami Marlins are in the first tier and so have the chance to sign any of the names aside from Roki Sasaki. There is no excuse to not spend big and bring in top tier talent to the team. That's what it looks like The Fish were planning to do, as SS/OF Andrew Salas has been signed with a $3.6 million bonus. Salas is a switch-hitter who is patient and has good swing decisions with a balanced approach. I'm very excited to see if he will make an impact for the team.

Will the Miami Marlins sign any other top prospects? I definitely hope for that to happen.
