"Today is a good day to have a good day" as the new Miami Marlins mantra goes. The Fish are going on a roll and playing better than expected. It remains to be seen how the team will do going forward. The next series against the Los Angeles Dodgers will be very challenging, and a strong test to see just how good the team can actually be.

The Miami Marlins offense has been better than expected.

I thought that it would be interesting to see how the Miami Marlins offense compares to that of the other teams. It turns out that The Fish's offense is actually better than average. The Fish are currently scoring 4.44 runs per game, which is above the average mark of 4.29. Granted, it's not a massive difference, but it's still better than expected.

C Agustin Ramirez, 3B Connor Norby, RF Kyle Stowers, 1B Matt Mervis and others have been impressing with their red hot bats. The runs per game mark can actually keep going up potentially. The important thing is that the offense is better than average, and before the season that wasn't what the expectation was at all.

The Chicago Cubs actually have the best offense in the game, with 5.93 runs per game. The New York Yankees have the best offense in the American League, scoring 5.54 runs per game. The highest scoring team in the NL East is actually the Miami Marlins with the aforementioned 4.44 runs per game. The Philadelphia Phillies are second with 4.43 runs per game. The New York Mets and the Washington Nationals are below average at 4.21 runs per game. The Atlanta Braves are the worst at 4.15 runs per game.

This is very exciting news as it makes it clear that The Fish are hitting not only better than expected, but better than the rest of the division. Does this mean that the team will now make the playoffs? It sadly probably won't happen, but it's still something to take note of and be impressed by. Peter Bendix is building a winning team here.
