Rotation injuries have been a big issue for the Miami Marlins before the season even started. First it was Edward Cabrera and then it was Ryan Weathers, now with the thinner rotation the question is who will take their spots. Some options available are Connor Gillispie, Adam Mazur and Valente Bellozo. They will be competing to join Sandy Alcantara, Cal Quantrill and Max Meyer in the rotation.

Miami Marlins rotation issues continue to mount before the season.

One immediately obvious option for the Miami Marlins rotation is last season's breakout pitcher Valente Bellozo. He pitched to a 3.67 ERA/5.73 FIP, with 5.8 K/9 and 2.8 BB/9 in 13 games and 68.2 innings pitched that season. He was certainly not an ace, but his ERA reflected that of a mid-rotation starter. The FIP does look worrying, but who knows could he actually take steps forward? The righty is still just 25 years old. He has however been terrible so far in Spring Training, though with a good strikeout to walk rate.

Another option is 27 year old righty Connor Gillispie, who you may not have even heard of before. He debuted last season with the Cleveland Guardians, and pitched to a 2.25 ERA/3.04 FIP, with 9.0 K/9 and 5.6 BB/9 in 3 games (no starts) and 8.0 innings pitched. He's pitched surprisingly well in Spring Training so far, though he's alternated between starting and relieving. He may well be worth a shot in the rotation to see how he will do however.

We can finish our list of Miami Marlins options with Adam Mazur. Mazur is a 23 year old righty, who pitched with the San Diego Padres last season. He pitched to a 7.49 ERA/6.23 FIP, with 5.9 K/9 and 5.6 BB/9 in 8 games and 33.2 innings pitched. Those are of course terrible results, and he hasn't pitched as a starter in Spring Training so far, but he's at least done a great job in that role.

Ultimately what it comes down to is a lost season for the Miami Marlins. This means that giving young guys a shot at the rotation is not a problem at all.
