There are still players out there that the Miami Marlins should sign. Spring Training is certainly not promising right now. MLB.com has an article about their projections for the season. I'm not ready to write mine, but for now let's see how their predictions align with what I'm currently expecting to happen. They wrote about their predictions on who will make the playoffs.
MLB.com has interesting Miami Marlins related predictions.
Here's a shocking prediction: the Miami Marlins will not make the playoffs in 2025. Peter Bendix is rebuilding the team. That's something that MLB.com clearly believes and sadly I can't argue. Let's start with their prediction for the American League East. They expect the Baltimore Orioles to win that division. I don't see that at all. The injury news around the New York Yankees are way overblown, they're still the favorites in that division. Calling the Boston Red Sox the 'second best team in the AL" is simply laughable.
The Detroit Tigers are predicted to win the AL Central and that's something that I could definitely see happening. The Texas Rangers are predicted to win the AL West, which I also can see happening. The Boston Red Sox, Seattle Mariners and the Toronto Blue Jays are the projected Wild Card teams. I could see Boston and Seattle, but not Toronto. The Kansas City Royals have a real shot at the AL Central and a Wild Card spot.
The Atlanta Braves are predicted to win the NL East in a predictable result. The Milwaukee Brewers are predicted to win the NL Central. I don't know about that one. I can see it, but he Chicago Cubs look like the favorites. The Los Angeles Dodgers are of course predicted to win the NL West, which I easily agree with. The Philadelphia Phillies, Arizona Diamondbacks and the New York Mets are projected to be the Wild Card teams. I don't get how the Mets are making the playoffs with that pitching, the San Diego Padres are clearly better.
It will be interesting to see what actually happens the season, but the Miami Marlins making the playoffs is sadly not very likely.
