Jazz Chisholm Jr. of the Marlins is potentially injured
Jazz is trying to avoid the injured list
After years of fighting injuries, Miami Marlins CF Jazz Chisholm Jr. vowed to stay healthy this season. The controversial face of the team is apparently not very popular around the Major Leagues. He may be outspoken and not afraid to speak his mind, but he is also a very talented player who is just constantly hampered by injuries. What's happening with him now?
Miami Marlins CF Jazz Chisholm Jr. has some health issues again.
It's not a surprise for many people to hear that Jazz Chisholm Jr. has never played a full season in the Major Leagues. His highest total has been the 124 games that he played in 2021. 60 games followed in 2022 and 97 in 2023. Luckily, he's so far at 72 games for this season. It appears that his new training regimen is finally bearing fruit.
Jazz is having a pretty good season too, batting .266/.333/.446, with 10 home runs and 36 RBI in 271 AB. He also has his customary solid stolen base total of 13. Give him 300+ AB and he will surely come close to hitting 30 home runs, will top 80 RBI and be one of the top stolen base threats in the game. He probably will be on the leaderboards for that stat in fact.
Sadly, he's dealing with right hamstring tightness. It doesn't seem serious enough to send him on the injured list, but it's serious enough to where he didn't play in the closing game of the St. Louis series. The Fish managed to win without him, but obviously there's no way for the team to be better without him either. It probably doesn't help matters to hear him mentioned in trade rumors. Those rumors are mostly just speculation it should be noted, though Peter Bendix also hasn't come out and vouched for him as a building block. There haven't been any extension talk reports either.
I'm certainly hoping that Jazz Chisholm Jr. will stay on the Miami Marlins long-term, avoid the injured list and live up to his full potential. Let's hope that he's back in the lineup shortly!
