Are you ready for more roster moves by the Miami Marlins? The Fish are stuck playing spoiler, as other teams make the playoffs instead and we look ahead towards the off-season. The latest roster move involves backup OF Cristian Pache, who was designated for assignment today. This was done as OF Dane Myers is now coming off of the injured list.

Cristian Pache is on his way out of the Miami Marlins.

The former top prospect Cristian Pache may once again have to look for a new team. The Miami Marlins just designated him for assignment. He played for the Atlanta Braves from 2020-2021. During that stretch of 24 games and 67 AB, he batted .119/.157/.209 with a home run and 4 RBI. That was such bad production, that he was traded to the Oakland Athletics after the season.

Pache didn't do much better with Oakland. This time, he batted .166/.218/.241 with 3 home runs and 18 RBI in 91 games and 241 AB. It was still very disappointing and he saw himself get traded to the Philadelphia Phillies. With Philly in 2023, Pache batted a finally improved .238/.319/.417, with 2 home runs and 11 RBI in 48 games and 84 AB.

Pache spent this season with Philly, the Baltimore Orioles and finally The Fish. During the 88 games and 165 AB, he batted .200/.273/.279 with a home run and 16 RBI. Specifically for the Marlins, he batted just .183/.234/.283 with a home run and 7 RBI in 35 games and 60 AB. The only positive with him was his great defense at the position.

Cristian Pache has now been designated by assignment by the Miami Marlins, and will either be claimed by another team or if not demoted to the Minors or released. Dane Myers is back in his place. He's batting .265/.337/.422, with 2 home runs and 14 RBI in 40 games and 83 AB. He has promise and will hopefully get more playing time in CF now that he's back. Derek Hill will be his main competition for starts at the position at this time. Good move by The Fish.
