The Miami Marlins have been busy adding largely irrelevant help and hopefully seriously pondering the future. Luckily, with The Fish at least winning a recent series against the St. Louis Cardinals, we can also take a look at the updated list of top prospects! It's fun to do and gives us at least some hope of a better future. Let's take a look at the top five...
Who are the top Miami Marlins prospects now?
The top Miami Marlins prospect is right-handed pitcher Noble Meyer. The 6'5 former high school pitcher currently has a 2.70 ERA with 10.8 K/9, and sadly a less impressive 2.9 BB/9 in the A and A+ levels this seasons. I'm really excited about him and hoping that when he finally gets to the Majors (ETA:2026), that he will indeed deliver.
The #2 prospect is his namesake and another starting pitcher: Max Meyer. He had a 2.12 ERA/3.73 FIP, with 7.4 K/9 and 1.6 BB/9 in the Majors this season, although now he's back in the Minors working on improving his stuff. He surprisingly hasn't been doing that good there, currently delivering a 6.46 ERA with 11.2 K/9 and 3.8 BB/9 there. The strikeouts are still elite, but he clearly needs to improve his ERA.
At the third spot is yet another starting pitcher! This time it's Thomas White. He has a very impressive 2.66 ERA with 12.2 K/9 and 4.4 BB/9 in 11 games and 47.1 innings pitched at the A and A+ levels in the Minors at the moment.
The fourth and fifth spots are held by a pair of OF's. At the fourth spot is Victor Mesa Jr., currently playing at AAA Jacksonville. He's currently batting .264/.326/.452 there, with 11 home runs and 38 RBI in 61 games and 250 AB. The fifth top prospect is Dillon Head. The centerpiece of a certain controversial trade is currently batting .167/.286/.667 in Rookie ball, but is also out for the season. Let's hope for better results when he's finally back and healthy.
The top five Miami Marlins prospects (at least the pitchers), look good and will likely go up prospect lists in the near future.
