The Mets have a rewards program for fans the Miami Marlins need to do

This has been a trying season for Miami Marlins fans. After making the playoffs in a Cinderella run last year, this year has been mostly losing. The Trade Deadline gave us a lot of hope, as Peter Bendix proved that he knows what he's doing. That said, it was also hard to watch some favorites get traded away. At the end of the day however, what matters is keeping the fans happy. Of all teams, the New York Mets have a good idea.

Can the Miami Marlins actually use the Mets' strategy to make the fans happy?

One of the biggest problems that the Miami Marlins have faced throughout the franchise's history, was bad attendance. This was due to constant sell-offs and ownership seemingly not caring aout winning. Bruce Sherman came into this atmosphere and it would be on him to prove that he's different. I do like his hiring of Peter Bendix and apparent plan to building a consistently winning team. He clearly hired him out of panic that the far went downhill, but I don't have much faith in him spending.

The New York Mets launched the "Mets Connect" loyalty program. This program basically rewards fans with reward points for each purchase that they make for the team. This means buying tickets for games, buying food and drinks at games, buying team merchandise... These reward points also lead to different "program tiers". This seems to mean that accumulating a certain amount of points gets you to a tier. You can then earn more points to advance to the next tier.

The rewards for accumulating all of these points include free game tickets, VIP access to events and "exclusive ballpark experiences" among other things. I'm not going to lie, considering you can do all this through the Ballpark app, this sounds really exciting. Which made me think, why can't the Miami Marlins do something like that? Doing little things like that can go a long way in making the fanbase happy, including growing it as well.

I like going to loanDepot Park and do so many times each season. I like good deals such as $5 burgers and other deals, I just wish more could be done for the fans. As an example, did you know that the Miami Marlins don't send "happy birthday" e-mails but other teams do?

A surprising reason.... dark. Next. A surprising reason...
