The Miami Marlins might actually be in playoff contention in September, and there's more optimism for the future as well. The Fish won ANOTHER series! This time it was even more impressive, as the series was against the Cleveland Guardians (potential AL Central division winners). It was also on the road in Cleveland. Not impressive enough? The series included the Miami Marlins winning a doubleheader on Saturday. Take a look at this great series...

The Miami Marlins impressively won a tough road series.

The opener was on April 22 and the Miami Marlins won 6-1. LF Bryan De La Cruz went 2-3 with an RBI, continuing his red hot start to the season. He's currently batting .314/.364/.471for the season. 2B Luis Arraez was great as usual, going 1-4 with 2 RBI. As long as De La Cruz keeps hitting like this, the offense might just be a lot better than expected.

In a surprise, the Miami Marlins won the doubleheader with a 3-2 win right after. Starting pitcher Braxton Garrett had a good performance, giving up a run in 5 innings. Luis Arraez went 3-4 this time as he's making a great case for the National League batting title this season. I was very impressed by this doubleheader sweep. The Cleveland Guardians won the American League Central last season, and are potentially going to do it again this season. Sweeping them in two games in Cleveland is a big deal.

The third game of the series didn't go that well for The Fish. This time it was a 7-4 loss, but it did have a silver lining. Two of them in fact. The first obvious one is that the Miami Marlins won ANOTHER series, this one on the road. The other is that The Fish made a comeback with 3 runs in the eighth inning. This is 13 runs in 3 games and I like that. Jorge Soler went 3-3 in the game.

The Miami Marlins are on a streak of winning series, and are beating division contending teams on the road. This is very exciting for me and very promising as The Fish are at above .500 and are in playoff contention.

Next. It's time to extend this key hitter.... dark
