The Miami Marlins made some minor moves this off-season and they're all not what we expected. I mean maybe it should've been expected that nothing big would happen. Still, it's a bit underwhelming that this is the result. It's all the more obvious when MLB.com has revealed the projected lineup and rotation for The Fish. Here we will specifically look at the projected batting order. It looks quite intriguing.

Miami Marlins projected batting order and lineup for the 2025 season.

SS Xavier Edwards will bat leadoff for the Miami Marlins. This is pretty obvious and easily the right move. The speedster is seemingly built for that spot and should be the bright spot of the lineup. I'm excited to see what he can do with a full season of work at the top of the lineup. Batting second is likely to be 3B Connor Norby. I'm excited about him too, as he showed quite a bit of potential last season. At this point, the lineup starts off pretty good.

Batting third is projected DH Jonah Bride. I'm a believer in him, but I don't see him batting third as ideal. He's just too unproven and that's a very high spot in the batting order for him. Batting clean-up is RF Jesus Sanchez. Once again not an ideal spot for him. He still has a lot to prove and this may be the season where he either has to step up or show that he's not a part of the team's future.

Batting fifth is projected CF Dane Myers. It makes sense to give him a shot, but again I wonder how he'll do. He's never played a full season in the Majors so this will be a real test for him. Batting sixth is projected first baseman Matt Mervis. I'm fine with Mervis getting a shot as he's a former top prospect and deserves a real shot. Batting seventh is second baseman Otto Lopez, who is a defensive wizard but isn't much with the bat. The spot is fine as is starting him at all. Batting eighth is LF Kyle Stowers. He was kind of disappointing in 2024, but I guess we should give him a shot.

Catcher Nick Fortes is projected to bat ninth in the lineup. This was a bad market for catchers, and he did turn things around last season. I'm fine with him starting and in that spot, so how will the Miami Marlins lineup do this upcoming season?
