Three Miami Marlins to have on your fantasy baseball radar in standard Leagues

As MLB's offseason madness continues, fantasy baseball players are also gearing up for an exciting 2025 season. For fans of the Miami Marlins, this is generally a time of targeting players from other franchises. However, there are several Marlins that fans can (and should) target in their upcoming fantasy drafts.

1) Sandy Alcantara, SP

It's no surprise to see the Marlins' ace at the top of the list. Former Cy Young winner Sandy Alcantara has fully recovered from Tommy John surgery and is poised to reestablish himself as one of baseball's premier pitchers.

Alcantara is a virtual lock for sub-four ERA, sub-1.25 WHIP, and 160+ strikeouts. If he can shake off the rust and quickly regain his form, a sub-3.20 ERA, 180+ strikeout season is within the realm of possibility.

Miami fans will need to brace themselves for the possibility of a mid-season trade. However, Sandy should be rostered as an ace and pitching anchor is all leagues, regardless of size or format.

2) Xavier Edwards, SS

The Marlins speedy infielder should also be a target in nearly all fantasy leagues. Xavier Edward's 31 steals across 265 at-bats last season helped him establish himself as one of baseball's most dangerous baserunners.

Edwards is projected to record nearly twice as many at-bats in 2025. If he runs with the same intentionally, the speedster's 78th percentile sprint speed should catapult him toward the 40-steal mark. If everything breaks right, Edwards has the upside to have a truly special season as on the base paths.

The infielder's solid average and poor power profile make him an interesting option in fantasy. His game holds much more value in a ROTO league.

Edwards will also gain value if he transitions off shortstop (which is flush with top-tier talent) and on to second base (which dramatically lacks overall depth in fantasy).

3) Connor Norby, 2B/3B

Connor Norby's power binge in Miami was an exciting part of the later half of the Marlins' season. The slugger's ability to hit for power (nine homers last season) and steal bases (94th percentile sprint speed), without sacrificing batting average (.247) should make him a late-round target in deeper leagues.

Norby's relatively low ceiling makes him a better bench option than a starter. However, his multi-positional eligibility gives him a boost.

He will receive plenty of opportunities in a poor Miami offense. Norby has the upside to post 15+ homers, 10+ steals, and 60+ RBI, and a .240+ average.

The former Oriole is an ideal target for managers seeking power late in their drafts, needing to fill their INF position, or anyone who plays in 14-team leagues or deeper.
