Spring Training is in full swing as March is going on. It would make sense for the Miami Marlins to sign some more bats, but until then we can just look at how the team is playing. More importantly, it makes sense to see how certain players are doing as it sets the tone for the season coming up. At this point, player improvements are the only things to look forward to this season.

How are certain Miami Marlins players doing this season?

Let's start with third baseman Connor Norby. The new face of the team is currently batting .286/.310/.464, with a home run and 5 RBI in 9 games and 28 AB. I really am hoping for a breakout season from him in 2025. I definitely see it happening too, as he's certainly good enough.

Projected first baseman Matt Mervis is batting an encouraging .286/.310/.679, with 3 home runs and 6 RBI in 9 games and 28 AB. Cna he carry it over to the season and break out? I wouldn't be surprised to be honest. He definitely has the ability and the prospect pedigree to finally put it all together.

Another prospective first baseman or DH is of course Jonah Bride. He is currently batting .130/.250/.261, with no home runs and one RBI in 9 games and 23 AB. This is definitely not ideal, though I assume that he might turn it around when the season starts.

How about prospective LF Kyle Stowers? He's currently batting .176/.417/.176 with no home runs and one RBI in 8 games and 17 AB. That's not very promising, but it's still early. Prospective CF Dane Myers is batting .300/.481/.300, with no home runs and 1 RBI in 9 games and 20 AB. Can he carry this over into the season? I really hope that the 29 year old is headed for a breakout.

SS Xavier Edwards is batting an impressive .321/.441/.464, with no home runs and 4 RBI in 10 games and 28 AB. He also has 2 stolen bases. I definitely see a big season with the Miami Marlins from him.
