We already know the projected lineup for the 2025 Miami Marlins. We also know who will be the team's ace this upcoming season. We now know what the projected rotation for the team is as well. It's interesting to take a look at that, and see how the team's former strength looks like now. In fact, you might wonder if it's even still a strength.

The Miami Marlins rotation looks intriguing.

It's not a surprise to know that the ace for the Miami Marlins is still Sandy Alcantara. It's nice to have him back and the only question now is if he will be traded at the Trade Deadline. I'm hoping that it doesn't happen, but realistically he probably will be gone by mid-season.

Ryan Weathers is projected to be the team's #2 starting pitcher. The former top prospect finally broke out last season. He pitched to a 3.63 ERA/4.11 FIP, with 8.3 K/9 and 2.5 BB/9 in 16 games and 86.2 innings pitched. Hopefully he follows up on that success this upcoming season.

The #3 starter in the rotation is Edward Cabrera. The streaky starting pitcher will likely be getting his final shot to prove that he can stick in the rotation. Last season, he pitched to a 4.95 ERA/4.68 FIP, with 10.0 K/9 and 4.7 BB/9 in 20 games and 96.1 innings pitched. He's never topped 100 innings in a season, so that should be something to consider.

The #4 starter is the recently signed righty Cal Quantrill. He's not coming off of a good season, but had success in the past and is really only here to eat some innings. The fifth spot is likely to go to Max Meyer, who made some interesting changes to his pitching repertoire.

Valente Bellozo will compete for the fifth spot as well, and will certainly receive starts regardless. He impressed in 2024, pitching to a 3.67 ERA/5.73 FIP, with 5.8 K/9 and 2.8 BB/9 in 13 games and 68.2 innings pitched. By mid-season, former top prospect Eury Perez will be back from injury.

The Miami Marlins no longer have an elite rotation, but it still has enough upside to and breakout potential to make us intrigued.
